DR. WILLIAM BOOTHE - DALLAS LASIK For a child involved in imaginative play, there is very little distinction between fantasy and reality. Children live and play out their dreams totally in the moment. There are many principles of success that can be learned by looking through the eyes of a child.
Children's eyes see with clarity and perception and reflect the reality of who they are. Children are uncluttered by training, brainwashing, and by living according to the unwritten rules and etiquette that have assailed the adult mind. For a child life has limitless possibilities that have not been squashed by logic, common sense, or limiting expectations that become part of the adult mind.
DR. BOOTHE A. Lashes that are hard to curl may need the help of an eyelash curler. Curl your lashes before you apply mascara – hold for ten to twenty seconds. To apply mascara look straight into your mirror with your chin slightly lifted so you can see your lashes. Insert the wand only once and twist, don't pump. Pumping can break the brush bristles and distribute the mascara unevenly and will dry out the mascara faster.
Start by rolling the wand from root to tip in an upward motion. Reinsert the brush and apply again. If your eyelashes are thick and long they may clunk together. If this happens let them dry and then separate them with the corner of an eyebrow brush.Dr William Boothe
It may seem at first to be a difficult task to assess the differences when you compare the cost of laser eye surgery procedure from one eye surgeon to the other. Still, you can break down the probable costs by assigning the costs to several categories.
DR. WILLIAM A. BOOTHE - LASIK DALLAS
LASIK DALLAS - DR WILLIAM BOOTHE: Diffuse Lamellar Keratitis (DLK) - Also known as Sands of Sahara. A rare complication of LASIK surgery, appearing between 2 and 5 days after surgery, where inflammation develops between the corneal flap and the corneal tissue beneath it. The cause isn’t certain. It causes blurriness of vision when it’s severe enough.

Various measures are usually taken to prevent it, such as use of sterile tape to keep the eyelashes away from the treatment area, rinsing the cornea before making the flap, and rinsing again before replacing the flap. After surgery, medicated eyedrops are typically used to prevent inflammation. DLK needs to be detected promptly so that it won’t impair vision. Usually it responds well to use of corticosteroid eyedrops and sometimes the surgeon will lift the flap again to rinse beneath it.

decentration - In perfect centration the center of the PRK corneal ablation exactly coincides with the center of the visual axis and/or pupil. This is like looking through the very center of your spectacle lens. If you look through the periphery of your lens you might end up seeing partly through the lens and partly through the edge of the lens- this is decentration. Decentration can cause various symptoms including edge glare or even monocular double vision. Other factors such as the normal size of the pupil, whether it is dark out (your pupil will enlarge) or the size of the PRK ablation zone will affect the severity or presence of symptoms.

DR. WILLIAM BOOTHE - LASIK SURGERY: Convex Lens - Lenses with the opposite curvature to concave lenses. They bulge outwards like a ball and are used to correct hyperopia and presbyopia.

Cornea - (KOR-nee-uh) The front clear part of the eye in front of the pupil and iris. It acts as a lens, refracting light rays as they enter the eye. The eye’s crystalline lens refracts them further to focus them on the retina at the back of the eye. The cornea also allows light to pass out through it, making the iris visible, the eye’s color.

DR WILLIAM BOOTHE - EYE CENTER
yag laser - A laser type using an infra red wavelength of 1064 nanometers. The laser material is neodymium Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet. Yag lasers are used after cataract surgery to photovaporize the residual membrane behind the artificial lens. The commom misconception that "lasers" are used to remove cataracts occurs because c. 75% of post-cataract patients eventually require yag laser capsulotomy.

20/20 - An expression for normal eyesight. The numbers refer to feet (except in countries that use the metric system, where it’s expressed as 6/6, six meters being approximately equal to 20 feet). The first number refers to the distance between the eye chart and the eye being tested. The second number is a comparison of a normal eye and the tested eye. When the second number is 20, that indicates the tested eye can read the small letters on the chart from 20 feet away, as a normal eye can. When the second number is higher than 20, it indicates impaired vision, more impaired as the number is higher. For example, if a person’s vision is assessed at 20/100, it means that this person must be only 20 feet from the chart for it to look as clear as it does to a normal eye 100 feet away.
